Saloni Aswani is a south Indian actress was born on1 June 1979,in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra to Sindhi speaking family as Vandana. Her father was an officer of customs. The family moved to CGS quarters in Wadala, Mumbai, when she was 5 years old. It is here she is interested in acting. After comleting school, she enrolled in the Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey women (SNDT) University near the New Marine Lines / Church Gate, Mumbai, and after graduating in psychology, she took acting classes in Ashok Kumar's Acting Academy, run by his daughter Preeti Ganguly. During her academic career she mainly involved in cultural programmes and always used to mimic actress Sridevi. She also participated in a theater group "Kala Sansad '. Initial appearances were in ads for Vaseline, life, Parachute Oil, Moove, Chic shampoo, Three roses tea, Meera soaps, etc.
Saloni first appeared on the screen tinsel in the local language movies, especially Tamil and Telugu. Her debut in Bollywood was in Dil Pardesi Ho Gaya, followed by Rehguzar and Saawan.
